Beacon Falls begins work on state-required Municipal Housing Growth Plan

The Land Use Coordinator told commissioners on July 16 that the town should begin work on a Municipal Housing Growth Plan required by Connecticut in 2029.
"This plan will be required by Connecticut State in 2029," Land Use Coordinator Leah Rajvong said, and staff recommended beginning early to allow ample time to integrate the town's previously adopted Affordable Housing Plan and Plan of Conservation and Development. No action was taken at the meeting; staff indicated they would work with the commission on next steps.
The Housing Growth Plan is intended to guide future land-use planning and to help the town comply with upcoming state requirements, officials said.
