The Mahwah Township Public School District said the proceeds of a recent bond sale put the district in a position to move forward with referendum-funded projects, including roofing work at multiple schools.
"We were able to get the proceeds for that, so we're now in a position of moving forward," Superintendent Mike Detoro said, adding that the district already has multiple bids ready for award. Detoro said Business and Facilities staff are coordinating schedules and will present more detail to the finance and facilities committee before work begins. The district plans to include project timelines and budgets on a public website the community can view; Detoro said the tentative launch is targeted for the board's September 15 meeting.
Board members were told that roofing work is among the first capital projects to move toward construction and that bid awards will be coordinated to align with summer schedules and vendor availability. The superintendent noted staff will present detailed schedules and that the district's project manager has begun preparing contract documents.
