Judge Keith Mudd told the court the proposed FY2027 budget would be ready to publish by Aug. 14, later than the usual Aug. 1 schedule, citing court dates and other timing constraints. "My proposed budget to go put should be ready by August 14," Mudd said. He noted the county must allow a 30-day period between publication and final action.
The court agreed to tentatively move its regular Sept. 14 meeting to Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. to hold public hearings and to adopt tax rates and the budget. Mudd said if the court cannot complete adoption on Sept. 15, the last possible day to act is Sept. 28. County staff also announced a budget workshop scheduled for the coming Wednesday at 10 a.m. as part of the schedule.
