Power board considers metering arrangement allowing Paragonah to join Parowan system

Power Director Jeremy Franklin outlined a proposal for the nearby town of Paragonah to purchase the same meters used by Parowan and be added to Parowan’s metering network as a large subdivision while retaining separate billing files.
Franklin said he had spoken with Honeywell, the metering system developer, who "confirmed it was feasible under the current system setup without additional burden." Board members noted potential cost savings from sharing annual maintenance and discussed concerns about keeping billing and customer data separate to avoid crossover or billing confusion. Franklin also raised the possibility that Parowan could take over maintenance of Paragonah’s system in the future to improve efficiency.
No formal decision was made; the board asked staff to further investigate technical requirements, data‑separation safeguards, and any contractual implications before returning with recommendations.
