The Wiscasset Select Board authorized the Town Manager to sign two Federal Aviation Administration grant contracts for reconstruction of the airport’s main apron, approving Phase III for $333,143 and Phase IV for $136,999.
Pam Dunning moved to authorize the Town Manager to execute FAA grant contract IWI-3-23-0049-032-2026 for the 'Reconstruction Main Apron Phase III' project in the amount of $333,143, and Cassaundra Rose moved to authorize contract IWI-3-23-0049-033-2026 for 'Reconstruction Main Apron Phase IV' in the amount of $136,999. Both motions passed 5-0-0. Town Manager Dennis Simmons will sign the contracts and oversee administration of the grant-funded work.
The two contracts together total $470,142 in FAA funds for apron reconstruction. The board did not discuss construction schedules or contractor selection during the July 21 meeting; those details will be managed under the grant terms and by the Town Manager’s office.
