W Main Street overlay moves forward with change order for hydrant and first pay estimate

The Council approved a change order (Resolution 2026-73) adding $9,570 to the W Main Street Overlay contract with Triple B Construction to provide a new fire hydrant and additional traffic-control signage for a local dentist office. Councilmember Jerry Sexton moved the change order and Councilmember Chantry Noel seconded; the vote was unanimous.
On the same project the Council approved Pay Estimate No.1 (Resolution 2026-74) in the amount of $201,282.04 to Triple B Construction Corp. City Engineer Dave Schechinger reported the overlay is ahead of schedule, with asphalt placement planned next week and final striping and seeding to follow after Hoover Hometown Days. The Council approved both actions by voice vote with no dissent.
