Solicitor says litigation involving Alexandria resolved for village; Johnstown retains counterclaims

Solicitor David Ball updated the council on litigation involving Alexandria, Jersey Township and Granville. Ball said the judge held a conference with attorneys representing the parties and that, from Alexandria's perspective, the litigation is over. "The case is over as far as we are concerned but it has not been finalized yet," Ball said.
Ball told the council Johnstown still has counterclaims seeking attorney fees and the judge gave Johnstown and Jersey Township 60 days to see if they can work it out; Ball added that an appeal by Jersey Township remained a possibility. The solicitor recommended council remain alert to further filings and noted staff requested an executive session to discuss related details.
