Mayor Sean Barnes told the council the Village of Alexandria participated in a multi-jurisdictional facility master plan for wastewater and that the draft plan is about 98% complete. He said the plan, with a 5–40 year planning horizon, is important for identifying how Alexandria will transition from its current small wastewater treatment facility.
"The amount that the Village would need to contribute is $10,000 to $15,000," Barnes told the council as he described options for scaling the plan after Johnstown left the coalition. Council members indicated the topic would need follow-up discussion about whether Alexandria should commit funds to finish the plan and how the expense would be allocated.
