County honors longtime volunteer Linda Hartfield with Keep Cherokee Beautiful Lifetime Achievement Award

Commissioner Benny Carter introduced a small presentation and recognition for the Keep Cherokee Beautiful awards. Agency Director Brian Reynolds noted that one award winner had not been present at the earlier ceremony and the board asked the recipient to be recognized at the Dec. 17 meeting.
Mark Pretorius read a timeline of Linda Hartfield—areer highlights, including work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Allatoona Lake beginning in the 1970s, coordinating the Great Lake Allatoona cleanup for two decades, serving on national and district committees, and volunteering as a Cherokee County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children. Pretorius said the award honored a "lifetime of service to the county" and invited county officials and Keep Cherokee Beautiful volunteers to recognize Hartfield on stage.
