Wastewater committee: grease traps required for some businesses; no town subsidy currently available

Hedman said that if the overall construction project comes in under budget and reserve funds are available, the Selectboard (as superintendent) could consider allowing grease-trap costs to be spread over time rather than requiring lump-sum upfront payment.
Hedman provided specific cost context: a 1,000-gallon grease trap is estimated at approximately $10,000, and three businesses are expected to require installations. The committee’s recommendations on prioritization and hookups will be forwarded in writing before Thanksgiving.
