Gary Hedman, chair of the Village Wastewater Committee, reviewed the committee’s recommended allocation priorities for the North Village, saying the ranking considered overall town benefit, cost-effectiveness, connection length and proximity to surface water. Hedman told the Selectboard the committee was close to finalizing design flows and that the intent of the recommendation was to keep the permitting process moving forward.
Matt Bachler of Windham Regional Commission provided a numerical example for reserving capacity: "reserving 10% capacity (648 gallons) in the North Village would cost roughly $2,070 a year," he said, and noted that at that flow level the capacity would serve roughly two houses. The board approved the committee’s recommendation; the motion passed with Taylor Prouty recorded as abstaining.
