Macksville board approves principal contract, staff hires and policy adoptions

The Macksville USD 351 Board approved a suite of personnel actions and policy adoptions at the May 11 meeting. By recorded motions the board approved a contract for Lori Anschutz as secondary principal (Reso #159), hired Alvaro Espino as a summer student worker (Reso #160), and adopted KASB April policies as presented (Reso #161). The board also accepted the resignation of elementary custodian Gary Drake (Reso #162).
Board records show Mr. D. Miller moved to approve the contract for Lori Anschutz with Mr. Anshutz seconding; the vote was recorded 7–0. The minutes list the hires and policy adoption under Resolutions #160 and #161 and the custodian resignation under Reso #162. Treasurer Danielle Acosta left the meeting at 8:13 PM prior to the executive session called to discuss personnel.
Later in the meeting the board approved hires for the 2026–27 school year, including Tayler Gentry as a fourth-grade teacher (Reso #167) and James Canterbury as District IT Coordinator (Reso #168). The board also accepted rescindment of retirement notification for Melinda Wood (Reso #169). All recorded personnel votes in the minutes carried unanimously, 7–0.
