Board approves February financials and authorizes tax levies totaling $7.8 million (aggregate)

At its March 9 meeting the Claymont City Board of Education approved the Treasurer's recommendations including the February financial report and payment of bills.
On the Treasurer's recommendation the Board also adopted resolutions accepting the amounts and rates certified by the Tuscarawas County Budget Commission and authorizing tax levies: Permanent Improvement 4.2 mills ($1,241,000); Current Expense (General) 20.5 mills ($5,300,000); an additional Permanent Improvement 2.0 mills ($476,000); and Current Expense (General) 3.0 mills ($783,000). The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
The Board also approved participation in the OSBA Legal Assistance Fund and a separate resolution requesting assistance from that fund. These actions were recorded as part of the Treasurer's report and voted on at the meeting.
