Henderson council members voted to approve a five-part land-use request from KB Homes that includes comprehensive plan amendments, zone change requests, waivers of standards, and a 229-lot single-family tentative map for property near Las Vegas Boulevard and Via Nobila. Planning staff said the applicant and staff negotiated to remove some waivers and provide compensating benefits such as added open space and trail components built to city specifications.
Councilman Stewart disclosed a family relationship with a property owner and abstained from deliberation and voting on items 75 and 76 (and later item 86) to avoid a perceived conflict. With that abstention noted, council approved the applications and adopted the related resolutions and ordinances as presented. Applicant representatives described site adjustments such as sidewalk placement and rear-setback tradeoffs; council members from affected wards thanked staff for flexibility that increased usable backyard space for lots, and the motions carried with the recorded abstention.
