Councilor Harold Bickner moved and Shelly Janish seconded a motion to purchase 60 loads of asphalt millings from Overweg at $15 per ton; the motion passed on roll call 6–0. Earlier in the discussion, a separate motion to purchase an uncapped amount of millings (to cover the remainder of gravel roads) was introduced but died for lack of a set cap. The minutes state the council and Overweg planned to apply the millings to streets in July before weather cooled.
