Payson budgets $11 million Station 92 project as fire, EMS call volume rises

Fire Chief Scott Spencer told the retreat the department responded to more than 2,400 calls in 2025 and that Station 92 is budgeted at $11 million with SIRQ construction under contract. He said the department receives a county fire allotment of $130,000 annually and is working on a contract with Spring Lake for ambulance and fire services.
Spencer described apparatus and ambulance orders, plans for aerial support, a new brush truck and hiring needs. He also raised operational items including ambulance relicensing, medical control contracts and the possibility of colocating fire and EMS in the same station.
