Payson parks director flags cemetery expansion, PARC tax renewal and Spring Lake grant

Tracy Zobell, Payson City Parks & Golf Director, told the council there were 125 burials in the cemetery in 2025 and outlined a five-year plan for cemetery expansion. He reported that the department removed five trees and planted 26 and reviewed maintenance, park and trail events.
Zobell also reported a grant for completion of the Spring Lake Boat Dock and discussed planned updates at Memorial Park, including willow-tree removal and pavilion and bathroom improvements. Council and staff discussed the upcoming PARC Tax renewal in 2026 and councilmember Lacee Smith volunteered to help with grant writing.
