Task force and bike plan updates, plus reminder to complete online budgeting exercise

A staff member said the North Lawrence task force has not met since February and that consultant HNTB is compiling listening‑session input and concept alternatives for upcoming conversations with KDOT/KTA; the next task force meeting is expected in mid‑June. "The contractor, HNTB, is working on a bunch of information that will be from the listening sessions that we've already had and delivering those to KDOT ... for some conversations," the staff member said.

The bike plan steering committee reported that downtown connections—particularly a route near City Hall and across the park—received the most public comment during the open house; staff noted one favored downtown option still lacks a city cost estimate. At the end of the meeting staff reminded attendees to complete the city’s online 'Balancing Act' budgeting exercise and noted the commission will be off in June for CIP work with possible summer quorum issues for July.
