Board schedules VTrans update on Bridge 42, readies token plan for transfer-station bags and sets street-sweep timing

Chair said representatives from VTrans, including a project manager, will attend the next Select Board meeting (two weeks hence) to give a status and timing update on Bridge 42 on Route 30 that washed out in July 2023; a tentative schedule mentioned permitting and right-of-way work this summer with construction next year.
The board heard an update on solid-waste bags: the town is close to running out of yellow bags and plans to transition to a token system when supplies are exhausted, targeting a soft launch in early to mid-May. Board members said townspeople and local vendors will be informed and that a Google Drive is being used to assemble sample comment letters for rulemaking.
On public works, the board said street sweeping should arrive within weeks; town crews will sweep sidewalks before the contractor's visit to reduce debris blown into roads. Residents were told the town will post more detailed timing once the contractor confirms the schedule.
