Londonderry requests $300K planning grant for flood-proofing study and Cobble Ridge bridge engineering

The Londonderry Selectboard unanimously authorized a $300,000 CDBG-DR planning grant application to fund a North Village Flood Proofing Feasibility Scoping Study and engineering for a Cobble Ridge Road Bridge replacement. The items were presented during a public hearing and then adopted by formal motion at the special Selectboard meeting.
KG Consulting’s Karen Geraghty described how the North Village study would identify measures to reduce property and revenue loss for businesses during flooding, and said the Cobble Ridge engineering study would develop plans for a replacement bridge at least 68 feet long. "At a cost estimated at about 5 million, the engineering study could help the Town receive funding for the construction phase of the project," she said. Geraghty said the engineering could conclude by spring 2026 and enable the town to pursue construction funding thereafter.
No Selectboard concerns or public comments were recorded for these planning items. The board adopted the Flood Proofing Feasibility and Cobble Ridge Bridge Engineering Studies resolution, designating the Town Administrator to execute required grant documentation.
