The Londonderry Selectboard unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the town to apply for $750,000 in CDBG-DR funds to replace two culverts damaged in the July 2023 flooding. The public hearing presentation described project timing, prior grants and the town’s construction schedule if fully funded.
Karen Geraghty said the application covers Windy Rise Lane West Culvert #2 and Barker Road Culvert #18. For Windy Rise Lane West, the town previously received a $200,000 Highways Structures grant toward an estimated $450,000 project; if fully funded, construction bidding could begin in fall 2026 with completion by late summer/early fall 2027. Geraghty noted that the Barker Road culvert sits below the Rinehart culvert and that "Both the previous Rinehart culvert and the Barker Road culvert were repeatedly washed out in the floods of 2023."
Selectboard member Taylor Prouty asked whether the Structures grant deadline aligned with the CDBG-DR timeline; the presenter confirmed that the Structures grant deadline is 12/31/2027 and that the schedules are compatible. The board adopted the Replace Culverts resolution and authorized the Town Administrator to execute any necessary documents.
