Jason presented the township’s fiscal year 2026 midyear review, reporting revenues that exceeded budget expectations and a healthy fund position.
Jason said year-to-date revenues total approximately $2,660,000, about 9.4% above budget, and expenditures total approximately $2,070,000, roughly 2.8% below budget. He reported that the township’s overall fund balance exceeds $5,500,000 and net income year to date has topped $600,000. Jason attributed the revenue strength to strong tax collections and interest earnings and noted several ongoing and planned capital projects, including line striping, a trailer purchase, a mini excavator that will be financed, and a planned 2027 Peterbilt dump truck financed in part by cash.
Jason outlined the FY2027 budget timeline: he will meet department heads in the week of Aug. 3; distribute a draft to the board the week of Aug. 24; deliver a manager’s budget introduction Sept. 1; schedule an information-gathering public meeting between Sept. 2 and 18; present the budget Oct. 6; seek authorization to advertise Nov. 3; make the draft available Nov. 4; and target adoption Dec. 1. Board members welcomed the aggressive calendar and asked that budget materials be posted on the township website for public review.
