Resident asks Park Rapids to revoke 2024 fire-call invoice

During the public comment period on Aug. 12, resident Tammi Alexander of 11712 Far Portage Drive said she received an invoice for a 2024 fire call after contacting the city's non-emergency line and asking that fire responders not be dispatched. "I did not want the fire department to arrive," Alexander told council and requested that the fee be revoked.
Council referred the invoice dispute to staff for review; City Administrator Angel Weasner told Alexander staff would review the circumstances and contact her with a decision. No vote or billing adjustment was recorded at the meeting.
