Heritage Pines board approves additional cleanup at 'area 33,' notes wetland constraints

The Heritage Pines CDD approved a proposal for additional cleanup at an area identified as '33' during its Dec. 10 meeting. The scope, requested by Supervisor Carol Vaughan, includes perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees, and mulching; optional work includes weed-whacker cleanup on a dry retention slope. On motion by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Mr. Putman, the board approved the proposal with the invoice to be paid upon completion.
District Engineer Kurt Heath warned board members that a natural wetland exists in the center of the site and noted an excavated retention area on the west and difficult mowing conditions on the south side. Chair Lonergan asked that maps be provided to Supervisor Putman to clarify property boundaries. The board approved the optional scope of work as recommended.
