The board adopted the proposed name "Pathways to Peace" and a charitable purpose "to provide support to nonprofit organizations that provide services across Kalamazoo County for those individuals and families impacted by gun violence," which the resolution lists as including violence prevention, intervention, youth engagement and victim support.
The board designated Commissioners Tammy Ray, Montes Morales and John Gisler as the county's advisory representatives. The resolution authorizes the county administrator/controller to negotiate and execute the letter of direction and any ancillary documents necessary to establish the fund, subject to corporate counsel approval of form. The motion passed on roll call.
