River Ridge to participate in Pelican Sound Safeguard Panel objectives; board assigns representatives

The board agreed the CDD will participate in Pelican Sound Community Safeguard Panel Objectives, assigning Mr. Merrill to Objective 2 (natural-disaster safeguarding) and Mr. Twombly to Objective 4 (improving street safety); staff will update the panel when it meets in December.
Chair Bob Schultz told the board that, as part of the Pelican Sound Community Safeguard Panel initiative, the River Ridge CDD will be involved in Objective 2 (safeguarding the community from the impact of natural disasters) and Objective 4 (improving street safety). Mr. Merrill will represent the CDD on Objective 2 and Mr. Twombly will represent the CDD on Objective 4.
PSGRC General Manager Eric Long said he emailed the communities an updated seven‑objective Action Plan and provided an overview of other objectives and panel members. Mr. Long responded to board questions about storm surges above 15' possibly flooding the CDD and said he will provide an update on the panel's first meeting, set for December.
