Board receives athletics report, approves band trip and athletic handbook
Summary
The Board received an athletics year-end report, approved an overnight band trip to Walt Disney World (Feb. 15–20, 2027), and adopted the MS/HS Student and Parent Athletic Handbook for 2026–27.
Superintendent Kennedy noted the End of Year Athletics Report for 2025–2026 submitted by Athletic Director Jonny Morehouse; Trustee Kathy Six complimented the compiled accomplishments. The board approved an overnight band trip for Fruitport High School to Walt Disney World February 15–20, 2027 (Item 26-79), with teachers Tim Priest and Kate Hildebrand noted as chaperones. The Board also approved the 2026–2027 MS/HS Student and Parent Athletic Handbook (Item 26-80). All related motions carried 7-0.
The athletic report was received as part of the administrative update; the band trip and handbook bring student activities and policy into board-approved status for the upcoming year.
