The Board approved a tentative agreement with the Fruitport Education Association (Item 26-77). The motion by Steve Kelly, seconded by Kathy Six, passed unanimously. The contract covers the 2026–2029 period and specifies year-one salary adjustments equivalent to one lane/step plus a 4% increase, year two adjustments equivalent to one step plus 3%, and a 2028–29 salary/wage opener requiring negotiation by June 30, 2028. The agreement also eliminates the BA+24 and MA+18 columns beginning with the 2028–2029 salary schedule.
The board’s minutes record a unanimous roll call (Yes: Burgess, Cole, Hazekamp, Kelly, Meeuwenberg, Mueller, Six). The Personnel Committee had reviewed the tentative agreement on July 13 and recommended approval at the full board meeting.
