UN chief: Syrian humanitarian appeal funded at only 22% as needs persist

"We have a dramatic problem, not only in Syria but everywhere," Mudares said. He said that in Syria the UN must increasingly focus on recovery and reintegration plans for refugees and internally displaced people and that stronger international financial support is required to make those plans effective.
Mudares emphasized that while humanitarian assistance remains essential, sustainable recovery will require scaled investment in reconstruction and services to reduce long‑term dependency on aid.
