The Fruitport Community Schools Board unanimously approved the annual Emergency Operations Plan update (Item 26-75) on July 20. The motion was made by Kris Cole and seconded by Tim Burgess and carried 7-0.
Board materials and the minutes note the EOP continues to align with the Michigan State Police template and the I Love U Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocol. The approved changes include updating staff contact information (removing personnel no longer employed by the district) and adding mandatory language governing student use of wireless communication devices during emergency situations. The minutes show these changes apply across districts in the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District to maintain uniform plan language.
