Residents urge caution as township develops trail master plan near Regency at Providence

Latisha ("Tish") McMaster said her community—an over‑55 development—has seen people and e‑bikes using routes that residents say they previously did not, and that a petition signed by about 90% of neighbors expresses strong opposition. "We're worried about civil liability from inevitable crossover into our streets," she said. Another resident, John (address given on the record), cited senior balance and reaction‑time issues and warned that faster e‑bikes and road cyclists can create collision risks for older residents.
Board staff urged residents to attend a July 28 trail workshop for detailed discussion and noted that the master plan itself would not authorize construction or funding; any specific trail proposal would return through the public process for engineering, environmental review, funding and separate approvals.
