Morna Flom, speaking for Discover Johnson, asked the Johnson Select Board to issue a letter of support for a proposed Blueberry Jam concert and associated festival events planned for Legion Field on August 1.
"My name is Morna Flom, and I'm representing Discover Johnson, which is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), dedicated to promoting agritourism, recreational tourism, and wellness tourism," Morna told the board. She said Discover Johnson is pursuing grant funding and urged the town to provide a support letter confirming facility access and noting insurance/liability coverage expectations. She asked that the town allow use of Legion Field on the day before and the day after (for setup and cleanup).
Town staff and board members asked Morna to complete the facility-use application and requested the town administrator prepare a letter of support using the town's standard template. The board motioned, seconded and voted to request a town-issued letter of support. Morna said she would fill out the facilities application immediately and provided a contact number for follow-up.
Next steps: Town administrator will draft a letter of support for the event and staff will confirm facility availability and insurance requirements once the facilities application is submitted.
