Council hears recommendation to award $1.495M Meadow Heights concrete replacement contract

Travis Small of the city's engineering and construction department recommended the council award the Meadow Heights concrete panel replacement contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Ellis Concrete Construction, at $1,495,084.75. Small said the project covers roughly 14,000 square yards and that the engineer's estimate was $1,873,845.50. "The lowest responsible bidder was Ellis Concrete with a bid price of $1,495,084.75," Small told the council.
Small also updated the council on residential rehabilitation efforts: if this project is approved, it will be the third residential rehab project under construction this year (totaling about $3.9 million), with five additional rehab projects expected before year-end and another five early next year (projected totals were discussed). A councilor asked whether the city posts neighborhood schedules; staff said they have internal schedules and agreed to provide that information on request.
