The Lead City Commission accepted the resignation of Commissioner Klein and appointed Dory Hanson to fill the vacant commission seat until the next annual election, the commission carried at its March 16 meeting.
City Administrator Robin Lucero administered the oath of office to Commissioner Dory Hanson immediately after the motion carried. The commission then carried a separate motion to appoint Commissioner Roger Thomas as interim mayor following Klein’s resignation.
The actions were recorded during general business and governance items. The commission also made related appointments at the same meeting, including naming Robin Lucero to the Powerhouse Pass Board of Supervisors and approving the February 2026 financial report showing $1,650,200.41 in reported funds.
The commission adjourned at 7:09 PM after an executive session on personnel and legal matters produced no action.
