Joyce Calvert, representing the Oklahoma Municipal League, presented 25-year service recognitions to city employees and read short biographies for honorees. Calvert named absent honorees (several firefighters and other staff who started in June 1999) and presented awards to those in attendance, including Kim Bailey (risk management coordinator), Steven Smith (police captain) and Lisa Smith (911 dispatcher). Calvert noted Russell Silter, a recently retired facilities supervisor, and offered to return to present awards to those not in attendance.
Council members and attendees thanked the honorees and OML for the presentations. The recognition was framed as a statewide ceremonial honor coordinated through OML.
