On March 23 the City Council moved into a closed session under the Open Meetings Act authority MCL 15.268(1)(h) to consider a written legal opinion subject to attorney-client privilege. The motion to enter closed session was made by Councilmember Jones and supported by Councilmember Forte; the motion carried 6-0 and the closed session began at 8:27 p.m.
The council came out of closed session and reconvened the regular meeting at 9:28 p.m. (motion by Jones, support by Avery; vote all aye). The minutes do not disclose the substance of the attorney27s written opinion because it is privileged under state law.
