Mayor Frank Sefrit called the City of New Market public hearing to order at 6:55 p.m. on July 16. Council members present — Larry McAlpin, Mike DeVoe, Brian Moore and Jake Daly — and city staff including City Clerk Megan Wright and Public Works staff Ben Fritz were noted; member Chance Strough was absent.
Council member Mike DeVoe moved to approve the meeting agenda, a motion seconded by Brian Moore and approved unanimously. The mayor opened the floor for public comment on the proposed sale of city property at 413-415 Adams St.; city staff reported that no citizens were present to speak. Council member Larry McAlpin then moved to approve Resolution 2026-42 to close the public hearing on the sale of 413-415 Adams St., a motion seconded by Jake Daly and carried by a unanimous vote of members present. Following the vote, the council formally closed the hearing.
