Kevin Spearing told the Committee he was reiterating concerns raised in February about the Aqua and American Water merger, flagging issues including potential rate locking, water quality, Clean Water Act requirements and PFAS contamination, and asked to partner with the Township to explore options.
Township Solicitor Sean Kilkenny told the Committee he is working on litigation related to the matter and will provide copies of public records for the Board of Commissioners to consider before any action. Township Manager Patrick T. Stasio said the information will be reviewed by the Board. No formal municipal action was taken during the Committee meeting; the matter remains a legal and policy issue for the Board to consider.
