The Broken Arrow Municipal Authority voted to award the County Line trunk sewer Phase 2A construction contract to Belt Construction after a presentation from Emily Roland, the city’s environmental division manager.
Roland said the Phase 2A work will continue the project started in 2019 and will replace and upsize an aging trunk line to accommodate future growth. "Some of you all may remember back in 2019, we constructed the 1st phase of this," Roland said, describing the new segment as extending north toward the 101st area. She recommended award to Belt Construction, the firm that performed the earlier phase.
Chair raised a question about whether Belt’s bid was significantly lower than others; Roland replied the bid was "pretty on point with what our estimate was," and she expressed confidence in the contractor based on the earlier work. A trustee moved to approve the construction contract and another member seconded; the chair called for a roll call vote and the motion passed as recorded in the meeting transcript. The meeting record does not include a detailed vote tally.
