Select Board welcomes new sergeant; police officer recognized for EMT certification

The Select Board introduced and sworn in Bryan Baker as the new sergeant for the Town of Jackson during its July 14 meeting. Chief Mosher presented Baker and Town Clerk Karen Burton administered the oath while Baker’s wife, Lauren, participated in the pinning ceremony. Chair Bob Thompson offered congratulations on behalf of the board.
In the same segment Chief Mosher recognized Officer Eaton for ‘‘his outstanding achievement in passing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) examination,’’ noting the accomplishment as part of the department’s professional development. The Select Board recorded both items as formal announcements; no separate votes were required beyond the ceremonial oath and recognition.
Town Clerk Karen Burton and Chief Mosher were cited as leading the ceremonial and recognition items. The Select Board did not indicate further personnel actions during the meeting.
