Two separate business-license inquiries were presented to the Rich County Commission on Dec. 10 and were tabled pending review by county legal counsel. Rick Rosser asked the commission to clarify whether BG Media Group LLC, a free weekly tabloid that carries local advertising, must hold a county business license. Darren Eastman asked for clarification on licensing for Bear Lake Media (bearlakeutah.com), a digital advertising and marketing business operating since 2012, and raised questions about billboard licensing requirements.
Commissioners indicated the county ordinance language governing advertising and billboard businesses requires legal review before any decision on exemptions or fee classifications can be made. Both items were tabled and will be placed on a future agenda after counsel has advised the commission.
