The LAPAC recorded consistent support across planning areas for agricultural diversification and youth agriculture programs. Facilitator Mireya Turner noted that the state ABC has changed rules to "allow for colocation of microbreweries on winery lands," prompting staff to include questions gauging support for microbreweries, distilleries and other ag‑adjacent uses in the area plan.
Members said diversifying allowed uses could help keep the local wine economy viable and that youth‑focused ag and wilderness education drew particularly strong survey support. The committee recommended incorporating policies that permit compatible ag‑business diversification while protecting rural character and supporting educational programming for young people.
