Teesha Grant described challenges she has faced managing apiaries and raised concerns about limited open space and loss of wildflower habitat for pollinators. Commission members discussed promoting pollinator pathways and community areas to support bees and other pollinators.
The group also flagged agritourism—pick‑your‑own operations, farm events and Christmas tree farms—as a topic for policy review and agreed to examine how other Connecticut towns regulate such activities in order to inform East Hampton policy recommendations.
