Members of the Town of East Hampton Agriculture Commission said they will review the commission’s ordinance and Connecticut General Statute 1-1Q to clarify what local agricultural activity the town can support. The group discussed zoning barriers that affect small farms and micro‑farming and expressed a desire to work with Planning & Zoning to modernize local regulations.
Chair Steve Strong noted guidance documents available through the Farm Bureau; members asked staff to pursue a Town Council liaison to help coordinate forthcoming regulatory recommendations. The commission did not make ordinance changes at the meeting but set ordinance review as an early work item.
