The city council approved a resolution July 21 authorizing the interim city administrator to complete a purchase and sign documents for 1771 Columbia Boulevard, a property identified for the police station.
Staff told the council the owner of the property passed away, triggering a clause in the lease that required the city to pay the outstanding note within 180 days. Staff reported the outstanding note is $1,250,000 and provided an estimated closing statement with total estimated closing costs of $1,256,433.12. Staff said the city had budgeted for this expense and that the title company and estate had tentatively set closing for the upcoming Monday. A motion to approve Resolution 2088 and authorize the interim city administrator to execute necessary documents passed unanimously.
