Chair announced board leadership will be decided in January: Jesse will run her last meeting in January and the board will nominate and vote on a new chair and vice-chair at that meeting. "If you're interested, please let Jesse know, and we will be prepared to nominate and vote someone in January," the chair said.
Separately, Dan asked the governance and education committee to consider adding guidance on AI-authored publications to the collection development policy because of growing availability of AI-generated books. He said AI items are "already publishing books" and proposed the committee discuss selection criteria and whether to accept such works into the system. The committee agreed to meet and create recommendations for future board consideration.
