Board approves library budget; nonresident unlimited card fee to be considered by county council

On fees, Dan said the county council will consider changing the nonresident unlimited card price from $25 to $60 at its Dec. 10 meeting; he outlined a proposed alternative free in‑library card allowing up to 10 items but restricting access to paid digital subscriptions. "So if it's convenient for them to come visit our library, they still can, and they can check out up to 10 items at a time," Dan said of the free in‑library option. The board was broadly supportive and noted county public hearings are scheduled Dec. 3 (Richlands) and Dec. 10 (Colville).
