Mike Lees told councilors that recent improvements left lift stations 12 and 3 in "top notch" condition and expected to serve reliably for the next two decades. "Those lift stations are top notch... they're good to go for the next 20 years," Lees said.
Lees added that the city has already identified replacement of lift stations 4 and 6 in the capital improvement plan and budget, and that lift stations 5 and 7 will also need replacement in the near future. Councilors asked how design choices (size, lifetime) factor into future-proofing and Lees explained lift stations are typically designed for 30โ5 years, but sizing is a balance between current function and long-term cost recovery.
