Final designs for Oheyawahi interpretive project presented to council

The City received a Phase III interpretive-design presentation for Oheyawahi from Full Circle during the July 7 meeting. Natural Resources Manager Krista Spreiter introduced the presentation; Regine Kennedy (Full Circle) outlined proposed visitor experience elements, interpretive items and design guidelines. The presentation included site circulation details intended to protect sensitive areas, signage at trail entries and narrowed trail alignments to deter bikes from moving onto vulnerable paths.
Task Force members and consultants discussed features that highlight the seven council fires and noted erosion and safety concerns at the site. Full Circle and Task Force representatives said capital structures shown in the concept would be integrated into a separate capital-improvement phase, and staff indicated those items would be considered for next-year capital planning and bonding.
