Sewer Department head Rick Chaput and City Manager Ron Redmond presented the draft FY26 Sewer Fund budget to the council. The budget presentation covered Fund 4 and Fund 8 allocations and potential capital needs; the council and staff discussed how capital fund balances affect operating line items.
Visitor Mel Hawley reviewed Fund 4 and Fund 8 and advised that "if there is money in the capital fund, parts such as a new blower do not need to be put in the budget, they can be bought and paid for." He also suggested allocating money in the budget for Capital Outlay, Sewer Line Replacement and Capital Improvements. Cecile Gebo suggested "name tags for City Employees."
